By no means a divine warrior for his cause, the Priest foregoes the combat training common to Clerics. Instead, he chooses to focus on the teachings and tenets of his religion.

Class Features Modifications

Hit Die: d6

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Priests are proficient with light armor and all simple weapons that deal only bludgeoning damage.

Clerics with the Priest variant gain the following class features:

Scribe Scroll: Priests gain Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat.

Extra Domain: A Priest may select one additional domain at 1st level, in addition to his normal two. This extra domain must either be an alignment domain matching that of his deity (Good, Evil, Law, or Chaos) or the Knowledge domain (even if Knowledge is not listed as one of the deity's domains). He gains the powers of this additional domain and can prepare spells from this domain in his domain slots.

Lore (Ex): A Priest adds half his class level to all Knowledge skill checks, and can make Knowledge skill checks untrained, as long as the question pertains to his religion or ideal.

Author's Note: This is an updated version of the "Cloistered Cleric" variant from Unearthed Arcana. In true Pathfinder spirit, it has been upgraded and made more versatile.
