Humanoid badgers or wolverine with the same body proportions for the most part as a dwarf.

Vern Racial Traits

+2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Dexterity, -2 Charisma

Medium Size: Vern are medium creatures.

Slow Speed: Vern have a base land speed of 20 ft.

Darkvision 60 ft.

Stability: Vern receive a +4 racial bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense when resisting a bull rush or trip attempt while standing on the ground.

Hardy: Vern receive a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.

Keen Senses: Vern receive a +2 bonus on all Perception checks.

Brawler: Vern get Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat at first level.

Base Height: Males 3'10" + 2d6, Females 3'8" + 2d6

Base Weight: Males 130 lbs. x 7, Females 100 lbs. x 7

Languages: Vern begin play speaking Common and Dwarven. Vern with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Giant, Gnome, Goblin, Orc, Terran, and Undercommon.

Author's Note: Vern are in some ways mutant dwarves who retain a lot of their racial abilites from what they were. Most dwarf settlements will welcome Vern as long lost clans and brother dwarves. How much else they retain from their dwarven heritage is up to the GM. But like a lot of the other races these guys are from a campaign that went nowhere.
