Doom-seer Saron usually knows what’s coming his way long before it has reached him, and thus will be prepared for whatever threat he should face. He will usually prepare with as many defensive spells he can and preferably start combat at a range using his ranged spells and gambling on his gloves of arrow snaring and damage reduction to stop any incoming ranged attacks. If anyone should come into melee he has no qualms about casting Cloudkill since he’s immune. He will try to use a combination of stunning fist, trip and paralyzing touches as is best suited to the situation at hand. If cornered or facing massive opposition he will use his transformation spell.

Saron’s motivations have puzzled scholar’s and adventurer’s for centuries. What purpose does this figure have for his warnings? Saron seems bereft of any emotion and no amount of scrutiny seems able to penetrate his ice cold exterior. Yet there are those who have been able to touch upon Saron’s past and his true humanity. Although centuries of undeath have driven any amount of compassion and mercy out of the lich, he has been known to have his times of melancholy and contemplation. A story even claims that the lich once fell in love, but that he saw the girl’s demise in a vision and eventually succumbed to his undead nature and let history pass, costing him his love, and some claim, the last of his humanity. Sages have speculated that Saron is the messenger of the Gods, prophesying their designs for a price. Others believe he might serve darker forces. The truth has yet to be determined.
